University/College Grant for a Romanian-Canadian Student.
Purpose: ORCA Student Grant is a fund focused on supporting Ontario resident students financially, but also to recognize and reward academic performance and extra-curricular activities.
Audience: College/University Students, Grade 12 Students who are planning to pursue post-secondary studies full-time and they were formally accepted by the educational institution.
Value: ORCA will award 3 (three) $1000 CAD Student Grants in 2019, consisting of $1000 (One Thousand Dollars CAD) cheque made payable to the applicable 2019 ORCA Student Grant recipients.
Eligibility: Applicants must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident residing in the province of Ontario who are enrolled in a full-time post-secondary (this includes college, professional certification, undergraduate education and graduate school) program.
Selection criteria includes:

- Essay: “What does my Romanian heritage mean to me” – 500 words
- Income
- Academic Standing during the past year
- Volunteer/leadership roles in school/community organizations and/or sports
- Volunteer activities for the Romanian Community
- Freestyle: “What should ORCA do to increase participation as guests or volunteers from students like yourself in the events, activities it organizes?” (optional)

- A copy of your Transcript of marks for the past year (Fall 2018, Winter 2019, and Summer 2019 if applicable).
